Yvonne Vollmer

Yvonne Vollmer, 86, Rockford, passed away September 14, 2022, at PA Peterson at the Citadel. She was born December 1, 1935, in Rockford the daughter of Edgar and Audrey (Lutz) Smith. Yvonne married Carl J. Vollmer in Rockford on August 15, 1959. He passed away November 4, 2010. Yvonne enjoyed listening to country music, doing Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, and playing games with her family. She especially enjoyed winning those games. Yvonne was fun to be around and everyone loved her quirkiness and her beautiful smile.

Survived by her sister, Lucille Dedrick of Janesville, WI; her daughters, Colleen (Steve) Girard of Rockford, Diane (Jamie) Townsend of Minooka, Linda (Tom) Jennings of Davis, and Denise (Felix Vajgert) of Cedar Rapids, IA; her grandchildren, Christina and Benjamin Girard, Kimberly and Michael Bucki, Jessica and Ryan Jennings; her 4 great-grandchildren; her best friend and companion, Carlos Diaz. Predeceased by her husband, Carl and her parents.

Per Yvonne’s wishes, there will be no services. She will be buried at Calvary Catholic Cemetery next to her husband. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com
