Yvonne M. King

Yvonne M. King, 62, of Rockford, IL passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Yvonne was born in Rockford, IL on April 4, 1960, daughter of Robert Okas and Norma (Nelson) Pottorff. She graduated from Reed-Custer High School in Braidwood, IL. She just retired from Syncreon thankfully, this past fall. Yvonne has many friends, and she loved her clubs. She was a member of the Navy Club for many years as well as the VFW. She was excited to have recently joined the Lyran Society. Yvonne loved to be the “crazy cat lady.” She was always the life of the party. Yvonne had such a big personality, unique sense of humor, with her many facial expressions. Anyone that knew her enjoyed her company and she will be dearly missed.

Yvonne is survived by her twin children, Janae James-Warhurst (Joe) and Justin James; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Steve Okas, Larry (Laurie) Pottorff, sister, Michelle (Mike) Stiles and many nieces and nephews she loved like her own. She is predeceased by her husband, John King; parents and brother, Gary Okas and sister, Theresa Cremeens.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. with a Time of Sharing and Prayers at 3:00 p.m. located at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. The family would like to invite guests to the Navy Club, 2324 Charles St # 1, Rockford, IL 61104, immediately following the service at the funeral home.
