YGNACIO "NICK LUNA" MOON Ygnacio "Nick Luna" Moon, 76, of Rockford, died at 8:35 am, Wednesday, August 29, 2007 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born July 31, 1931, the son of Remijio and Marcellina (Mardez) Luna. Veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a paratrooper serving overseas during the Korean Conflict. He married Irene Rodriquez in Paducah, TX in 1950. Employed as a tile finisher and member of local No.114 and local No.31. Member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Irene; 7 children, Esperanza(Roberto)Dangel of Rockford, Ygnacio(Lisa)Luna Jr. of Pecatonica, Rojelio(Kim)Luna of German Valley, Virginia(Rick)Keinz of Rockford, Esther(Carlos)Velarde of Rockford, Michael(Kim)Moon of Rockford and Generosa(Paul)Jimenez of Belvidere; 28 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sisters, Lydia Casarez of TX and Irene Flores of CO; brother, Remijio(Marcie)Luna of Rockford; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 sons, Mario Luna and Marcello Luna; granddaughter, Serena and 4 brother and 2 sisters. Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 5, 2007 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father Brian Geary officiating. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday evening, September 4, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with rosary geing recited at 7:45 pm in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church. To
