Winston L. Mcfarland

Winston L. McFarland, 82, of Rockford, passed away on September 15, 2011 in Arkansas. Born April 3, 1929 in Arkansas; son of Walter amp; Gertrude McFarland. Married Madelin K. LaFranka on April 28, 1952, she predeceased him in 2006. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Peggy Ann McFarland Ianni in 2005. Winston retired from Rockford Power train and Logli Supermarket on Rockton Avenue. He then worked parttime with his cousin, Bud at Smittys Lawn Care. He was also a former member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Robin L. McFarland Carlson; Stepson, David (Vickey) Ruggero; sister, Judy McFarland; grandchildren, Michelle (Daryl) Sheik, Mandy Avery, Bridget (Chuck) LeBranch and Shawn (Kelly) Chamberlain; 8 greatgrandchildren; 2 greatgreat grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, soninlaw, Brian D. Carlson; 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
