Wilma J. Sterling, 89 Loves Park Wilma J. Sterling, 89, of Loves Park died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at home. Born March 25, 1919 to Will and Edna Kohler in Smelser Township , Southwestern Wisconsin. Graduated Plattville State Teachers College in 1938, at a time when few women were earning a degree. Received a BS in Education fromNorthern Illinois University, 1963. She and Husband Carl made their home in Loves Park where she taught in the Harlem School District for 27 years, retiring in 1975. She was an active member of Evans Memorial United Methodist Church , where she sang in the choir. She and Carl moved to Bradenton, Florida and she lived there for 30 years before returning to Loves Park several years ago. Wilma was a member of the Greatest Generation, living through the depression and sacrificing during WWII with husband Carl, who served in the Army Air Corp in theAleutian Islands. Predeceased by husband, Carl F, in 1987, brothers Bill, Kenneth, and Robert, sisters Edith and Ruth. Survived by sister Fern Krujohann of Rockford and brother Wayne (Mary) Kohler of Clinton,
