Willis L. Smith, 66
Rockton- Willis L. Smith, 66, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 in his home with the loving care of his family. Born July 3, 1949, in Rockford, the son of Willis F. & Neva (Palmar) Smith. Married Lillie Wilson on March 26, 1974. During his career he worked for different manufacturing companies. Willis enjoyed fishing, camping, and being outdoors. He was an avid NY Yankees fan and also San Francisco 49ers fan, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Willis is survived by his loving wife; Lillie, sons; Willis R., Larry (Deb), Greggory Smith (Cassandra), Eddie (Tammy) and Thomas Woods, Brothers; Curtis, Arthur, Richard and Billy, 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by parents; brother; Larry, sisters; Linda and Kay.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. James Woodman for all the years of care he provided for Willie and to Northern Illinois Hospice for their care and support.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, with the Rev. David Fredrick officiating.
