Willie C Box

Willie C. Box, 70, of Rockford passed away February 10, 2021 in his home, after a courageous battle with lung cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Born February 28, 1950 In Chidester, Arkansas, the son of Willie Lee (Viola E Holliman) Box. Willie married Bridget Tuminaro, on August 6, 1983 in Rockford, Illinois. He owned and operated New Life Appliances for many years.
Willie had a strong belief in God and had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. He raised his kids to have Christian values. Willie was loved by so many people, including all his customers. He supported his children and was their number one fan while they played basketball and other sports. Those who knew Willie knew his love for Jesus, his family, friends, customers, sports and Coca-Cola.
He survived by his loving wife, Bridget; children, Joel’Anthony Box, Jeremiah Box , Lydia (Joshua Sr.) Barrett and Isaiah Box. In addition, his grandchildren, Tru and Joshua, Jr., to whom he was known as “Papa Willie”; siblings, Barbara Gill, Marilyn Lenderman, Steve, Judy (Danie) Box-Brown and Bruce. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and his beloved dog Simba. Predeceased by parents, three brothers and one sister.
A walk-through visitation will be held 1-3 pm Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Ave, Rockford, IL 61103.
