William "Whitey" Anderson

William “Whitey” D. Anderson, 66, of Byron died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in his home. Born August 30, 1950 in Rockford the son of Beltran and Louise (Williams) Anderson. Married his loving wife Jackie Miller on November 22, 1973. Worked as an electrician at the Rockford Airport for 38 years, retiring December 23, 2016. A member of St. Mary Catholic Church Byron and the SM & SF Club, enjoyed fishing and working on cars. He was sure to attend all of his grandchildren’s sporting events and cheer them on to victory. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed very much. He is sharing the Heavens with his son and granddaughter and they are at peace. Survivors include his wife Jackie; daughter, Heidi Anderson Martinez; grandchildren, Vincent and Victoria Martinez; brother, Larry (Shirley) Benson; sister, Barb Dilley; nieces, Lisa, Cheri, Wendy, Kali, Kelsey, Kinzie; nephews, Chris, Scott, Chad, Jake and Tony. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas in 2016 and granddaughter, Eloisa Martinez.
Funeral service Monday, January 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Burial will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. and continues on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family.
