William Philip Scott

William ""Bill"" Philip Scott, 81 of Rockford passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 in OSF St. Anthony Hospital. Born March 29, 1927 in Sterling, IL the son of Ralph Asa and Hazel (Llewellyn) Scott. He married Shirley Ann Doran on September 21, 1950 in Beaver, Iowa. She predeceased him in 1988. Bill served in the United States Navy and was member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Arlington Heights. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and his Masters degree from the University of Chicago. Survivors include his sons David (Susan) and Douglas (Elizabeth) Scott and daughter Jane (Steve Pearson) Billeter. Grandchildren Ali Scott, Ryan Scott, Kevin Scott, Morgan Scott, Becky Billeter and Jake Billeter. Brother Ralph (Katie) Scott and special friend Elizabeth Ware. He was predeceased by his parents, wife and sister Doris Bently. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, Iowa.
