William M. Randle, 87, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday January 10, 2013 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was born August 25, 1925 in Peru, IL; son of Mason and Hazel Randle. He came to Rockford in 1946. He married Mary BrownTucker in Barrington, IL on November 11, 1967; she predeceased him on September 1, 2002. He served in the Army during WWII. William received two Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars and a French Coeur De Guerre and served with Audie Murphy the most decorated soldier. He owned R and S Heating for 27 years, retiring in 1973. Willaims was a life member of the VFW, American Legion and the 3 rd Infantry Division Association. Bill loved to hunt, golf and fish. Survivors include his loving stepson, John (Floy) Tucker of Rockford; son, William Randle, II of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Deborah Randle; sister, Doris Abrams of Rockford, IL; numerous grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; wife, Mary; uncle and aunt, Jim (Julia) Cherry.Funeral service at 12:00pm Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 North Rockton Ave. with Pastor Gerald Demond of Halsted Road Baptist Church officiating. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to be established by the family.
