William James McDevitt, Jr., 55, Rockford, died suddenly at 1:25 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2007 in his home.nbsp; Born June 10, 1952 in Rockford, son of William and Olive Kay (Nelson) McDevitt.nbsp; William married Maureen Kay Westholder inRockford on June 28, 1975.nbsp; He worked as a security officer at Swedish American Hospital for 6 years and then worked at Tan Books as head of security for many years.nbsp;

Survivors include his wife, Maureen; children, Matthew (Jennifer) McDevitt, Lisa M. (Brad) Morrison, Angela M. McDevitt and Justin W. McDevitt.nbsp; He was the proud grandfather of five (soon to be six) grandchildren; Victoria, Stephanie, Alexander and Robert Morrison, Dominic McDevitt and Miriam McDevitt who is due in 3 weeks.nbsp; Also survived by his father, William James McDevitt; brothers and sisters, Mary M. (Gary) Johnson, John W. McDevitt, Robert J. (Marlene) McDevitt, Michael M. (Fianca(c), Nancy) McDevitt, Patricia A. Thingvold, Kathleen M. Letheby, Daniel P. McDevitt; mother-in-law, Bernadette Dade; father-in-law, Joseph Westholder, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special family friends, Steve and Matt.nbsp; Predeceased by his mother, Olive Kay McDevitt on August 21, 2004.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2007 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Reverend Father Frank Slupski officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery .
