William J. Hickey

WinnebagoWilliam J. Hickey, 50, of Winnebago died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Swedish American Hospital after a courageous battle with malignant melanoma. Born December 17, 1961 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of John E. and Ann M. Hickey. Married his loving wife, Maureen A. Wrenn, in Mineola, NY on July 11, 1987. Graduated from Chaminade High School in NY, received a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from Villanova University, Pennsylvania, a Masters in Engineering Management from Long Island University, New York and was attending Rockford College for his Masters of Business Administration.nbsp; Bill worked in the Aerospace industry for over 25 years where his vast knowledge led him and Maureen to many different cities and states. He was currently employed at Hamilton Sundstrand as a Software Engineering Manager.

Survivors include his wife, Maureen of Winnebago; father, John Hickey of FL; faithful canine and feline companions, Tawny, Clark, Buster, Hazel, Cameo and Rusty; aunts, Dolores Cash and Jane Krockta, both of New York, Eileen Casserly of Ohio and Mary Ann (Walter) Ulrich of Michigan; uncle, Joseph Hickey of Michigan; sisterinlaw, Teresa (Patrick) WrennGarcia of New York and numerous cousins and many special friends. The family wishes to thank Robert McWilliams, MD, Kelsie amp; Jen, and caregivers Amanda, Heather, Sherry, Theresa, and Teri. nbsp;Preceded in death by his Mother, Grandparents and several Aunts and Uncles.

Visitation Monday, January 23, 2012 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. from 48 p.m. with a Rosary service to be recited at 8 p.m.nbsp; Visitation continues on Tuesday at church from 9 a.m. until time of prayer at 9:45 a.m.

Funeral Mass, Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St.nbsp; Rockford, IL at 10:00 a.m.
