William John Fabsik, 58, of Rockford died Friday, Dec. 25, 2015 at SwedishAmerican Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on Sept. 3, 1957 in Chicago, the son of John and Frances (Kureja) Fabsik. Graduated with his Bachelors in Arts from Judson College. Bill was an addictions counselor for Rosecrance in Rockford for 12 years and was an instrumental part in the rehabilitation process for those he worked with. A 24 year friend of Bill W., a genius at Scrabble and an all around likable guy. He truly loved to go fishing and camping with his daughter Kate. He is survived by his daughter Kate; sister, Christine (Walter) Matthis; his sweetheart, Lynn Dieterman and her son which he was like a father to; nieces Michele (Brian) Fadziejewski and Anne Schwichtenberg. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service.
