William George "Bill" Mann, 82, Rockford, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013, in his home. He was born February 17, 1931, in Pinckneyville, the son of George and Rose (Schneider) Mann. Bill married Ella Marie Heuman in Rockford on November 12, 1955. Ella predeceased him on September 3, 2013. He was a veteran of the Army serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Bill was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing especially with his buddy, Jack Schroeder, and spending time with his family.
Survived by his daughter, Susan (Harry) Allen of Rockford, his son, Steven (Trina) Mann of Rockford, and his daughter, Stacey (Gary) Howle of Sarasota, FL; his grandchildren, Jacquelyn Hutson, Nicholas Mann, Jade (Terrance Jr.) Branney, Ruby Mann and Kelly Howle; his great-grandson, Terrance Branney III; his brothers, Jack (Bonnie) Mann of Rockford, Bob Mann of Pinckneyville, his sister, Elizabeth Setzkorn of Herrin; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Ella; his brothers, Arthur and James Mann, infant sisters Barbara Ann and Dorothy Mann, and sisters, Mary Margaret Mann and Helen Hutchinson.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, December 2, 2013, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Entombment will be at Willwood Burial park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and from 9:00 am until 9:45 am on Monday at the church.
