William E. Free, 89, Rockford, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in Alden Park Strathmoor. Born October 19, 1928 in Mystic Iowa, son of Jesse E. and Helen Bullard Free. Married Beverly Reese on July 19, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Employed by Mechanic Universal as a machinist for 36 years, retiring in 1983 and also was a realtor for Crosby Adelman for several years.
Bill was a long time member of the Moose Club and the LLL Club for over 50 years. Everything he ever did was for his family and he was a true Irishman in every aspect.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; children Susan (James) Maggio, Woodstock, William A. (Cheryl) Free, Byron, Lori (Chris) Biesemeier, Durand and Kimberly (Scott) Ramsby, Marengo; grandchildren, Heidi (Jason) Schnulle, Woodstock, Anthony Maggio, Woodstock, Jamie (Eric) Kriete, Crystal Lake, Joseph, Timothy and Allison Free all of Byron, Stephanie Manusharow, Nicholas Manusharow, Jesse and Bryttany Biesemeier all of South Beloit; many great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy E. Free; sister, Glenice McGowan and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; sisters, Ruby, Betty, Annadean and Dixie; brothers, Mickie and Fred and son-in-law, Steve Talbott.
Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a time of sharing at noon.
