William C. Kelly, Sr

William C. Kelly, Sr, 87, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his home. Born February 23, 1929 in Rockford, the son of Harold C. & Georgia M. (Whalen) Kelly. Graduated from St. Thomas School, class of 1947. Served in the Great Lake Naval reserves. Married Prudence Ferraro, in Rockford at St. Patrick Catholic Church, on May 28, 1949. William worked in sales for Sears Roebucks Co. for over forty years, in the home improvement department. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching his favorite sports teams, reading and trivia, but most of all he loved traveling with his wife and spending time with family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Prudence; daughter Maureen Kelly Thurman; sons William C. Kelly, Jr. and John L. Kelly; grandchildren Patrick, Daniel, Michael, Steven and Anna Kelly, numerous nieces, nephews and special niece Susan Fricke.
