William "Bill" W. Norton

William “Bill” W. Norton, 89, Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Wesley Willows. He was born May 1, 1934, in Chicago, the son of William and Lillian (Ward) Norton. Bill was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University and his master’s degree from IIT. Bill then earned his MBA from Lake Forest School of Management. He married Carolyn Drake in Chicago in 1957. Bill was employed as a Mechanical Engineer at several companies such as Henry Pratt Company, Baxter Travenol Laboratories, Inc and most recently was employed by Culligan International. After retirement he was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Galena where he served as Senior Warden during their major restoration. After moving to the Rockford area, he was a member of St. Anskar’s Episcopal Church. He was a past member of Rotary International in Galena for many years.

Survived by his loving wife Carolyn; his daughter, Victoria Norton; his 6 grandchildren, Carolyn, Jonathan, Elisabeth, Thomas, and Paul Atwell and Breanna Brezezinski; his Godchildren, Corey and Jared Schuster. Predeceased by his parents, his son, Will Norton and his brother John Norton.
