William “Bill” Harold Becker, 75, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
Bill was born in Rockford, IL on October 13, 1946, son of Gerald and Catherine (Cannell) Becker. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs. Bill graduated from Boylan Central Catholic High School, Class of 1965. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bill worked at Chrysler for 30 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. Bill married Holly Vaughan on March 30, 1995. “My rock, my friend, my love, my purpose.” He cherished his time spent with family and friends. Bill was an outstanding husband, father and grandpa.
Bill is survived by his wife, Holly Vaughan-Becker; children, Thomas (Angelina) Becker, Scott (Shannon) Vaughan, Michael (Roxann) Vaughan, Jeffrey (Julie) Vaughan and Joanne (Shane) Keller; grandchildren, Owen Becker (2022) waiting for his grandpa in heaven, Dylan (Nicole), Caitlin, Brittany, Tyler, Olivia, Zakary, Christian, Janet and Ian; great-grandchildren, Braeden, Adele, Aurora, Lilliana, Alyson, Vanessa and Elijah; brothers-in-law, Chuck Tussing and Greg McLane; nephews, James and Daniel Tussing and Jeremy McLane; special friends, Barb and Matt Szymanski, Mary Stucy, Shaina and Brian Webb. Bill is predeceased by his parents, brother, Keith Becker sister, Georgia Tussing, and Patsy (Gunderson) Becker.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will conclude in Willwood Burial Park.
