Wayne J. Mcqueary

Rockford-Wayne J. McQueary, 81, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 in his home surrounded by his family. Born March 28, 1928 in Chicago, son of William and Pauline (Schmiz) McQueary. Veteran of WWII serving in the United States Navy. Married his loving wife Frieda Fibrow-Hennessy on April 22, 1961 in Rockford at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Worked as a tool and die maker at National Lock retiring in 1983 and went on to work for the Rockford Diocese and St. Patrick Church in Heartland as the property contractor. He and Frieda enjoyed wintering in TX and taking walks on the beach feeding the seagulls. Survivors include his wife, Frieda of Rockford; son, David (Louise) Hennessy of Cherry Valley; daughters, Janet (Richard) Keating, Kathy (Philip) Pritchard and Mary (David) North all of Rockford; grandchildren, Jennifer, Julie, Jeanine, Nathan, Mary, Megan, Harrison and Isabella; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Joseph of Chicago and Fred (Betty) of N. Fort Meyers, FL. Preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Jacob Pritchard in 2001, 4 sisters and 6 brothers. Funeral Mass Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 10:30 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2300 Bell Ave. Visitation on Tuesday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel 3910 N. Rockton Ave. from 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7. Visitation continues Wed. in the Parish Hall from 9-10:15 a.m. Interment in Willwood Burial Park.
