Wanda Lucille Dabbs

Wanda Lucille Dabbs, 79, Rockford, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014, in the home of her daughter. She was born June 27, 1934, in Minturn, Arkansas, the daughter of Otis and Dessie (Cline) Shatsar. She married Johnie Wren and later married Joseph Dabbs. Wanda worked at Amcore Bank on 7th St. for many years. She was a member of Rockford First Church of the Nazarene. Wanda enjoyed bowling.
Survived by her children, Johnie (June) Wren, Machesney Park, Cynthia Merryman, Rockford, and Sheila Dabbs, Kankakee; step-granddaughters, Cathy (Serafin) Ochoa and Karen (Rito) Rodriquez; grandchildren, William (Michelle) Merryman, Brad (Angela) Merryman, Holly (Jason) Miller, Steven (Jenni) Wren, Ryan, Cameron, and Serena Bennett; great-grandchildren, Michael and Juan Rodriguez, Becky and Rachael Vega, Blake, Brayden, Brittney and Alyssa Merryman, Mikayla Buffalo, Storm, Rain, and Autumn Miller, Bianca and Rhianna, Summer, and Dillon Wren; sisters, Mary (Ron) Culbertson and Connie Holloway; brothers, Freddie (Sandy) Shatsar and Eddie Shatsar; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and both husbands,; brothers, James and Jim-Dale Shatsar, Buford Oakley; brother-in-law, John Holloway, and son-in-law, John Merryman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Rockford First Church of the Nazarene, 4503 Charles St., Rockford. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford.
