Walter J. Pennow, 89, of Rockford, IL died on December 25, 2020. He was born on May 23, 1931, in Oconomowoc, WI to Walter J. and Mildred (Ellison) Pennow Sr.
Walter was a long-time member of Second First Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After graduating from Rockford College, he worked as an accountant for Woodward Governor, retiring after 31 years of service. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and donated over 25 gallons of blood to the Rock River Blood Center.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years and travel companion, Joyce; son, John Pennow; daughters, Patty Healton, Sherry (Steve) Brandon, Janet Mazzucca and Nancy (George) Belt; grandchildren, Josh (Chanda) Healton, Jason (Pearl) Barry, Stefanie (Justin) Boyce and Gabe Herman; 6 great-grandchildren and sister, Marge (Tom) Bushman. Preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Todd Barry, and special friend Bill Belt.
