Walter "Bud" E. Muraski

Walter “Bud” Muraski Jr., 78, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021. Born June 22, 1943 in Rockford, IL., the son of Walter and Ruth (Hammerstein) Muraski. Bud enjoyed a lifelong career as a problem solver, master tradesman, and mentor to many during his time as an electrician, contractor, and project manager. He was known for both his knowledge and willingness to take the time to help and guide. Bud was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. Bud’s 58 year commitment to his wife Jackie was only surpassed by his 62 year commitment to the Green Bay Packers. He is retired from the Navy Reserves, a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, and spent many years involved in Boy Scouts and Sea Scouts.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Jackie; children, Christina Kubrak, Michael (Sangdao) Muraski, Matt (Annette) Muraski and Mark (Alison) Muraski; grandchildren, Ashley (John) Kubrak-D’Amico, Danielle (Corydon Wagner) and Emily Kubrak, Abby and Jessica Muraski, Jaxson and Jayden Muraski, and Augie Muraski; great-granddaughter, Lexi; siblings, Naomi (Jim) Patnode, Stan (Sandra) Muraski, Willliam (Ardele) Muraski, Peggy Luter, MaryAlice (Stan) Schraufnagel and Paul (Sue) Muraski; as well as, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother-in-laws, Richard Ferre and Greg Luter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr, Rockford, IL 61109. A visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of Mass at the church. Covid protocol will be followed at all services.
