Virginia L. Crandall, 88, of Rockford, passed away Monday February 5, 2018. She was born December 6, 1929, in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Gilbert and Madelyn (Foster) Grigsby. Virginia graduated from Sullivan High School, class of 1945. Virginia married the love of her life, William on March 19, 1980. She worked for many years at United Airlines. Virginia enjoyed bowling and working her crossword puzzles. She was an avid Cubs fan and loved watching Jeopardy. Virginia was a member of the Grigsby Family Organization and Sullivan High School Alumni Organization. Above all, Virginia will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Survived by her children, Linda (Irv) (Bengson) Austin-Kroll, Debra (Ken) (Bengson) Golla; grandchildren, Scott Austin, Kevin Austin, Brian Cook, Kyle Cook and Eric Cook; great grandchildren, Cooper, Carter, Ben, Alexis and Rhiona; brother, John Grigsby; sisters, Joann Mersch and Carolyn Menick. Predeceased by her parents and loving husband Bill. The family would like to thank the caring and devoted staff at Heartland Hospice and Peak Medical Home Care.
