Virgie M. Suggs

Virgie Mae Suggs of Rockford passed away on Thursday February 20, 2014 at home surrounded by loving family. Virgie was born January 31, 1944 in Durant, MS the daughter of Joe Roby and Lucille Bruce Holmes. She attended schools in Mississippi and moved to Rockford. She was a long time employee at Hamilton-Sundstrand and upon retirement she started her day care and was a foster parent. She was married to Charlie Bo Suggs, she was a member of Holiness Church of God. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Khan and the OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for Cancer Care. She leaves to cherish many memories her daughters: Gloria Holmes, Loretta Mcmillon, and Edna (William) Sockwell, Sons: James, Robert Suggs; 3 sisters: Mary C. Bruce, Mary Lou Holmes, Annie Seawood; 3 brothers: Charlie, Willie Lee, Nathaniel Holmes; 15 Grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, two children Agnes Holmes, Charlie Suggs jr. the Memorial service will be held on Friday February 28, 2014 at St Luke M.B. Church 2919 19th St. Rockford IL. beginning at 11:00 A.M.
