Vincent R. Fertitta

Vincent R. Fertitta 88 of Rockford passed away Friday May 22, 2015 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was born August24, 1926 in Freeport, IL, the son of Rosario and Concetta Fertitta. He married Anne Guarino on October 19, 1946. Career employee of City of Rockford and retired as Superintendent of the Street Department. Member of St Bernadette Church.

Survivors include his wife Anne. Two sons, Frank Fertitta of Rockford and Russell of Fort Collins, CO. Granddaughter, Alison Fertitta. Brother, Sam (Bernice) Fertitta. Numerous loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents. Infant daughter, Mary Ann. Siblings, Tony, Joe, Ray, Sara, Theresa, Tina, Mary, Lillian and Josephine. Vincent loved sports, fishing, the outdoors and trains. He was a dedicated Husband, Father and grandfather that was loved by his family and friends, he always put his family first.

Funeral Mass at 10am Saturday May 30, 2015 in St Bernadette Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 5pm until 7pm Friday May 29 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 3910 N. Rockton Ave with rosary recited at 7pm. Express online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com
