LOVING MOM AND GRANDMA
Vickie Kay Armato, 67, Rockford, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011, in SwedishAmerican Hospital after a short battle with cancer with her loving family by her side.nbsp; She was born October 12, 1944, in Rockford, the daughter of Vincent and Marion (Anderson) Ullrich.nbsp; Vickie was a 1962 graduate of Muldoon Catholic High School.nbsp; She married Robert (Butch) Armato in Rockford on April 4, 1964. nbsp;For many years Vickies greatest pride and joy was taking care of her children and home, and eventually her grandchildren. She and Butch also owned Auburn Bowl for 15 years. Later they shared a love for antiques and opened a?Victorias Fancya?, a booth in the East State Antiques Mall. She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church.
Vickie is survived by her son, Todd (Irene) Armato of Rockford; daughter, Kellie (Steve) Hood of Rockford; her grandchildren, Katie and Cody Armato, Seth Fish, Faith and Tyler Hood; her sister, Terry Bankes of Rockford; her aunt, Eleanor Ulrich of Rockford and many nieces and nephews and special friends, Lisa Richerson and Sue Lawson. She is predeceased by her husband, Butch and her parents.nbsp; The family would like to thank Dr. Asner and the amazing staff of the Critical Care Unit at SwedishAmerican Hospital.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, Thursday, December 22, 2011, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. with Fr. David Peck officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.nbsp; Visitation from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 , in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd and from 9:30 am until 10:15 am at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be made to PAWS Humane Society, P.O. Box 7722 Rockford, ILnbsp; 61126.
