Vicki L. Christensen

Vicki L. Christensen, 75, passed away February 19th, 2024, in Caledonia, WI. She was born August 14, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas to Willis and Alice (Johnson) Kundo. While her father was in the Air Force, she lived in various states before the family moved back to Rockford. They were life-long members of Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church. She attended Guilford High School (Class of 1966) and Western Illinois University (Class of 1970) where she earned her BA in education. While there, she met her husband Roy R. Christensen. They married August 15, 1970, at Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church. After living in Rockford, Minnesota, and Iowa, they eventually settled in Twin Lakes, WI with their daughters. She taught kindergarten, third grade, and fifth grade at Wilmot Grade School for most of her career where she was active in the Wisconsin Educators Association. Vicki loved teaching and could still recall the names of her students and stories about them years later. She also worked many years at the Kenosha County fair office on the grounds, Wilmot Mountain, and American Girl.

Vicki liked to travel and volunteered as a parent chaperon on many Wilmot High School band trips. Her favorite vacation was to Sweden to visit family.

Vicki absolutely adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. They were her pride and joy. They will miss her greatly.

Vicki is survived by her daughters, Jennie (Adam) Goetsch and Kirsten (Christopher) Lofy; grandsons, Kaden, Jayce, and Benjamin; granddaughters, Jayden, Jocelyn, Jalyssa, and Elise; sisters, Kathy (Richard) Schneider, Bonnie (Ronald) Bowes, and Lori (Jeffrey) Patnaude; sister-in-law, Kathy Kundo; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Willis and Alice Kundo, her husband Roy Christensen, her brother Gerald Kundo, and nephew Brendon Kundo.

The Funeral Service will be March 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 S. Mulford, Rockford, IL. A visitation will be prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial immediately after at Arlington Cemetery.
