Vera Naber Nolan Pasch, 96 of Rockford, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Highland in the Woodlands Nursing Center. Born February 9, 1912 in Rockford, daughter of George and Frances (Leary) Lewis. Graduate of St. Marys Grade School and the first class at Muldoon High School, 1930. Married George Vincent Naber on Sept. 2, 1937, he died March 1, 1957. She was then married to Tom Nolan on Nov. 7, 1964; he died April 2, 1990. During those years Vera worked for Mid States Industries, Ralph Picken and Barber Coleman. On Oct. 12, 1996 she married Ed Pasch. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter, belonged to the Catholic Womens League, St. Anns, Elks Auxiliary, Moose Club and attended St. Peters Chapel for 14 years. Survivors include her daughters, Beverly (Tim) Taylor and Jeanne Stewart; husband, Ed; sister, Nina Sauberlich; grandchildren, Jeff Taylor, Scott (Jean) Taylor, Argiri (Dayna) Zafiropoulos, Evmorphia (Tim Smallwood) Zafiropoulos and Artemious Zafiropoulos; great grandchildren, Brenden Taylor, Shayne Taylor, Zachary and Sara Metzger, and Nicolas Smallwood; step-children, Nick (Joan) Pasch and Rosey (Gary) Bosselman and many dear nieces and nephews; step-great grandchildren Mykelti and Nathaniel Weidman Preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant sons, 2 husbands, brothers, Ray (Ruth), La Vern (Rose), Merle (Eileen) and Gene (Doris) Lewis. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful and caring staff at Highview in the Woodland, especially Larry LPN and her OSF Hospice nurse, Julie. She had superior care from all the dedicated people working there, thank you.Funeral Mass Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter. Interment will be held in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. from 5-8 p.m. and will continue on Thursday in church from 9-9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the family in her name for Masses and the School Tuition Fund.
