Troy Leo Porter, 92, quietly passed away on August 27, 2012.nbsp; Born August 7, 1920 in Corning, Arkansas to Homer and Dora Porter.nbsp; Predeceased in death by his parents, 2 wives, Lillian Johnson Porter and Audrey Rose Porter, one son, Edward Porter, brother, Loren Porter and sister, Lucille Blanton.nbsp; He is survived by his children, Troy L. Porter,Jr. (Lynn) of Gold Canyon, AZ, John R. Porter (Gail) of Hot Springs, AR, Dorothy L. Farr (Gary) of Decatur,nbsp; IL, Patricia A. Schwalenburg of League City, TX; 13 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; special nephew, Emmett Porter (Nancy) of Rockton;nbsp; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to count. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII.nbsp; He landednbsp; at Utah Beach and marched all the way to Germany and back with the 1 st Armored Cavalry.nbsp; He earned 3 Bronze Stars during his service. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Retired from Gunite Corporation and spent many good days on golf courses all over the U.S.
Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Dr. Eric Lemonholm officiating.nbsp; Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
