Timothy R Mattocks

October 29, 1957 — August 5, 2014

Timothy R. Mattocks, 56, Rockton, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 following a valiant battle with cancer. Born October 29, 1957 in Rockford, son of Robert A. Mattocks and Mary Joanne (Green) Mattocks. Graduated from Durand High School in 1975. He was a skilled electrician and member of IBEW Local # 364. He retired in 2012. Veteran of the United States Army. Tim was an intelligent, hard working, honest and loyal man. He was a private person who loved to read, listen to a diverse selection of music, and ride his Harley Davidson. He was also a Cubs fan, a great golfer, enjoyed nature and animals, especially his cat, Spooky.

Survivors include his father, Robert (Sylvia) Mattocks; sister, Laura (Brian) Sutcliffe; brothers, Roy (Mari) Mattocks, John (Dianna) Mattocks, numerous nieces and nephews and special friend and cousin, Dan Walden. Predeceased by his mother, Joanne Speer. Tim's family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Northern Illinois Hospice, especially, Tonya, Matt and Michelle.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Rev. Greg Nicholl, Chaplain of Northern Illinois Hospice officiating. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northern Illinois Hospice, 4215 Newburg Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Arrangements were completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel.
