Timothy H. Doyle

February 1, 1956 — July 18, 2016

Timothy H. Doyle, was involved in a tragic accident on July 16 while on vacation with his wife in Nashville, TN. His children, his wife and family were at his bedside at Vanderbilt University Medical Hospital when he went to join his family and friends in heaven on Monday, July 18, 2016.

Tim was born on February 1, 1956 to Hugh & Doris (Ruhl) Doyle in Chicago, Illinois. Tim graduated from East High School in Rockford, IL in 1974, where he made many lifelong friends.

He retired from Commonwealth Edison, where he effortlessly garnered respect and friendships, after working for 37 years on May 31, 2016. His retirement plans were to travel the country with his wife. In that short time, they were able to take 3 trips with friends and family and created many more wonderful memories.

He met the love of his life, Lori in 1991, at work where they became great friends. After a few months of being around each other, he showed up for their first date with a suitcase in hand, and they started their lives together and they never looked back. They married on March 1, 1997 in the Rochelle United Methodist Church in Rochelle, IL.

Tim & Lori's marriage was filled with love and friendship for each other, and they were always having fun, going on adventures with friends and family, or just spending time together alone. There was never a dull moment. Their love was never ending. Tim was a genuine person. Kind, loving, smart, honest, talented and very funny. His stories and his laugh were legendary. He love to play his guitar and sing for anyone who wanted to listen and sing along.

The greatest joy in his life was being a father to his 3 sons, Shane, Mike & Ben from his previous marriage to Diane Wagner. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them as children or adults. When it was his time to be with his kids, nothing would take him away. He was involved daily in their lives, and became a 2nd dad to many of their friends, including his sons half sister, Michele Schultz.

His sisters and brothers adored him, and many funny and happy stories were relived whenever they were around each other. Tim was the oldest of 6 children and up until the end, he was a hero, a best friend, a confidant and the best brother anyone could ever have.

His generosity to mankind was his goal, and he achieved it by becoming a donor through the donation of skin and bone tissue, and is already helping the life's of burn victims and those with bone cancer.

Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence Ruhl, Margaret Ruhl Stawarz, Marion Stawarz, Steve and Jeanne Doyle, his father Hugh Doyle, nephew Spct. Alan McPeek and niece Michaela Myers. Survivors are his wife, Lori (Zuehl) Doyle of Rochelle, his sons; Shane and Michael of Rockford, and Benjamin (Fiancé Shawnna Brown) of Elkhart, Indiana. His mother, Doris Doyle of Rockford.
