Timothy C. Turngren

Timothy Charles Turngren, 62, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Tim was born in Harvey, IL on February 16, 1960, son of Charles R. and Carole A. (VanZuidam) Turngren. He graduated from Illiana Christian High School, Class of 1978. Tim continued his education further to earn his bachelor’s degree from Trinity Christin College in Palos Heights, followed by Calvin College to earn his Master of Divinity degree in Grand Rapids, MI and lastly, earned his doctorate degree from McCormick Seminary in Chicago.

Tim successfully owned and operated his business as a board-certified reflexologist for many years. He attended Rockford United General Baptist Church in Rockford where he also played piano and occasionally helped fill in giving sermons for church services. Tim had a special love for his 4 beagle dogs: Spooky, Spot, Daisy Mae and Dixie. He enjoyed spending his spare time working on clocks, playing instruments and teaching himself new songs to play as he learned them by ear. Tim was very handy and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Those left to honor Tim’s memory include his mother, Carole Turngren; siblings, Sharon (Bill) Heintz and Dave Turngren; brother-in-law, Gordon Ward; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many special friends. He is predeceased by his father, Charles Turngren and sister, Cathleen Ward.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service, located at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Burial will conclude on Wednesday, September 14, in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lansing, IL.
