Timothy Bederka

Timothy Paul Bederka, 60, of Rockford died unexpectedly on March 5, 2015 in his home. Born Dec. 26, 1954 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul M. Bederka. As a boy Tim enjoyed Ham Radio, which was a life long hobby talking to people all over the world. He was a volunteer fireman for Log Cabin Arbor, an EMT and had his pilots license. He earned two degrees at Rock Valley College and a Bachelor’s degree from Rockford University. He worked as a welding instructor for Rock Valley College and for Landstar Systems as a Data Management Administrator. Tim had a love for American Indian history and tracking WWII history of his father. He was also a great comedian, magician and had several belts in Karate. He was a kind, generous man to everyone he met, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his mother, Alice; sister, Paula (Jerry) Mais; brothers, Larry (Ida), Craig (Janet), Bob (Julie) and Tom; nieces and nephews, Kareen DiTullio, Jennifer Kuss, Brian and Laurie Bederka, Becky Bragg, Hans, Sara, Kyle, Matt and Nicole Bederka. Preceded in death by his father and sister-in-law, Jean.

Funeral Mass Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church 6254 Valley Knoll Dr, Rockford with a visitation from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. a private burial will be held on Friday at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
