Thomas "Tom" W. Coe

Thomas W. Coe, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away suddenly Saturday, September 9, 2023. Born to Walter R. Coe and Gwendolyn L. Coe on February 2, 1957. Tom lived a storied life of adventure, passion, and integrity. A Marine Corp Vet, Embassy Guard, and over 40 years in law enforcement, Tom was an incredibly dignified man with a heart for service and stories that could fill many novels. He loved his family, friends, and his God.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Swanson Coe; his sons Tim Coe and Danny Coe; mother-in-law Barb Swanson Engaldo; sisters Nancy (Michael) Payne and MaryBeth Russell and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and sisters, Peg Paquette, and Sally Gallagher.

A visitation will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service, 11:30 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Museum of the Marine Corps or to the Gold Star Mission.
