Thomas J. Lindem, 79. BELOVED HUSBAND, FATHER AND GRANDFATHER.  ROCKFORD Thomas J. Lindem, 79 deceased at home surrounded by family on the evening of June 5,2008. Born July 4, 1928 in Minnesota, WWII veteran, attended University of Minnesota and Illinois Institute of Technology. He married Claire in 1951 and moved to Rockford in 1955 for an engineering position with Ingersoll Milling Machine Co. Thomas retired as Vice President of New Technology in 1994 with the Octahedral Hexapod as his final development. He founded Atometric in 2003 where he continued as Chairman developing a product family of micro machining centers. Tom and his wife were active in the folk music scene hosting concerts and festivals with performers from near and far, and founded the Rock River Friends of Folk Music. Tom is survived by his wife Claire Lindem and children: Julie Maher of Wheaton, Laura Henry of Paradise Valley, AZ, and Thomas N. Lindem of Rockton. Grandchildren are Alec Locascio, Olivia Lindem, James Maher, Lauren Maher, and Stuart Henry. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00am on  Saturday,  July 12th at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
