Thomas J. Leick, 65
Rockford- Thomas J. Leick, 65, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at Swedish American Hospital. Born August 8, 1949, in Aurora, IL, the son of Henry & Eva (Kartheiser) Leick. Married Karen McGilvery on June 18, 1983 in Naperville. Graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and served in the US Army Reserves. Thomas was known for being a hard worker and a family man of his three children. He owned and operated his farms beginning in Aurora in 1971 and moving to Rockford in 1994. He loved spending time gardening and creating art out of used machinery parts, but most of all spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church for twenty one years.
Survivors include his beloved wife Karen; children Christine (Travis) Cord, Michael Leick, and Steven (fiancée Monica) Leick; first grandchild baby Cord due in September; sister Mary Lou Pattermann; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by parents.
Funeral Mass will be 10 am Friday, June 26, 2015 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church. Visitation 5 – 8 pm Thursday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel with a rosary recited at 7:30; also Friday, from 9 am until time of mass at Church. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
