Thomas F. Timmer

Thomas F. Timmer, 74, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

Tom was born in Rockford, IL on August 29, 1945, son of Nicholas and Mary Catherine (Featherston) Timmer. He graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 1963. Tom proudly served our country in the United States Army. He married Terry (Mitchell) Timmer in Rockford on May 6, 1967. Tom was a member of Rock Church in Rockford. He enjoyed going on cruises, playing poker and blackjack, dancing and partying. Tom was very skilled at building things, including home renovations, electrical and plumbing work. Most of all, Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, which included having picnics, playing croquet and late night dominoes. He was a loving, caring man who will be dearly missed as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Terry Timmer; sons, John (Janet) and Jeffery Timmer; grandchildren, Katya, Alex, Tiffani, Hannah, Ariel and Jeffery Jr.; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Levi and Cassie; brothers, Leroy, Robert (Darlene), Jim (Donna) and Tim Timmer; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Tom is predeceased by his parents and sister, Kim.

Due to current circumstances, a private family service will be held. A memorial service will be planned for a future date.
