Thomas E. Hillenburg, 78, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018.
Born February 12, 1940, in Holly Grove, AR, son of C.A. and Gertie (Davis) Hillenburg. He married Anita M. Brown on June 23, 1961. Tom was employed as a truck driver for Yellow Transportation. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and trap shooter. Tom was also a member of the NRA.
He is survived by his children; Greg Hillenburg of Rockford, Doug Hillenburg (Tracy) of Loves Park; four grandchildren, Ashley (Brian), Blake, Zander, and Abby; sisters, Bobbie, Phyllis, Sue, and their spouses, and numerous family and friends. Predeceased by his parents; loving wife, Anita; son, Thomas Hillenburg, Jr.; three brothers, James, Harvey, and Charles Hillenburg; and daughter-in-law, Sandy.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Private burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice Care or Generations at Neighbors Nursing Home.
