Theresa Joan Ingrassia, 93, died on January 31, 2023 at Alpine Fireside Health Center with her loving nephew Dr. Ted Ingrassia III at her side.
Theresa was born in St. Anthony Hospital, Rockford, on October 20, 1929 to Marie (Ginestra) and Theodore S. Ingrassia. She attended St. Elizabeth Social Center and Barbour School, Rockford, St. Coletta, Jefferson, Wis. and Barbara Olson Center of Hope, Rockford, where she delighted in reaching her potential through meaningful work and social activities. She was a long-time member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church and a resident of Alpine Fireside for more than 40 years.
Theresa brought great joy to those around her. She loved her nieces and nephews and their children, always looking forward to having her picture taken with them. Her favorite activities were bingo and being with family at any celebration.
Survivors include her brother and guardian, Theodore S. (Terry) Ingrassia, Jr., nieces and nephews, Dr. Theodore S. (Lorri) Ingrassia III, Elizabeth (Michael) Donovan, Amy Ingrassia, Thomas (Pat) McGuire, Christopher McGuire, Daniel (Beth) McGuire, and Timothy (Valerie) McGuire. Great-nieces and nephews, Angela Ingrassia (Daniel) Arwady, Theodore S. (Jessica) Ingrassia IV, Erin Donovan, Mitchell Donovan, Samantha (Carlos) Flynn, Colin (Jen) McGuire, Tyler McGuire, Jake McGuire, Madeline McGuire and Nicholas McGuire. Theresa is also survived by great-great nieces and nephews Maya and Myles Flynn, Robert and Altair Ingrassia, Theo James and Tyler Arwady. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, sister Camilla McGuire and nephew Ted McGuire.

Father David Beauvais will offer Theresa’s funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Holy Family Church, 4400 Highcrest Road, Rockford, with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
