Theresa A. Loven

Theresa A. (Moncado) Loven, 93 of Belvidere, IL, formerly of Rockford, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Maple Crest Care Centre.

Theresa was born June 28, 1925 in Rockford, IL, daughter of Angelo and Josephine (Morreal) Moncado. She married Rodger G. Loven on April 13, 1946 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Rockford, IL. He passed away January 29, 2012. Theresa and her husband were members of St. Anthony for many years. She was a devout Catholic and her faith was very important. Theresa was a member of the St. Mary’s Club as well as the St. Anthony Altar Rosary. She absolutely loved cooking, baking her famous Italian cookies and spending time with her family. Theresa will be dearly missed by many.

Surviving relatives include her children, John (Kathy) Loven, Joseph (Ilona) Loven and Josephine (Jim) Saxton; grandchildren, John (Julie) Loven Jr., Cyndee (Ron) Taylor, Michael (Carrie) Loven, Christopher (Beatriz) Loven, Brian Loven, Lisa (Jamie) Castillo, Joseph Saxton (Quianna Sturgill) and Michael Saxton (Sarah Matherly); 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Peter (Laverne) Moncado and brother-in-law, Ken (Ruth) Kenney. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, siblings, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and one grandson. The family would like to thank the staff of Maple Crest for the long-term care and compassion over the years with Theresa.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. immediately followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 1010 Ferguson St. Rockford, IL 61102. Entombment will conclude in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be designated to the family of Theresa Loven for a memorial to be established at a later date.
