Theodore Ted Stacionis

Theodore "Ted" J. Stacionis, 65, of Rockford passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a sudden illness. Born June 30, 1949, in Rockford, the son of Theodore and Veronica (Dolan) Stacionis. Ted graduated from Guilford High School and served in the United States Army Reserves. He married Julie M. Doyle in Rockford on July 24, 1971. Ted had a deep passion as a landscaper for Village Green, Barefoot Grass and most recently at Lawn Care by Walter. He was a lifelong member of St. Rita Catholic Church. He was a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan, a Boy Scout Leader and was always willing and ready to lend a hand. Nothing brought Ted more joy than attending his sons sporting events. Ted was a loving family man, devoted to his wife, sons and beautiful granddaughter. He was a loving son, son-in-law, uncle and friend.
Survived by his wife, Julie; sons, Matt Stacionis and Chris Stacionis; granddaughter, Mallory Stacionis; mother, Veronica; siblings, Alice Stacionis and Richard (Kim) Stacionis; mother-in-law, Mary Doyle; brother-in-law, Mike (Nora) Doyle; numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and special canine friends, Woody and Henry. Predeceased by his father, Theodore and sister, Sharon.
Memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. John Evans officiating.
