Teresa M. Costello

Teresa M. Costello, 86, of Rockford, passed peacefully in her home on Sunday, October 5, 2014. Born July 20, 1928, in Kulpmont, PA, daughter of Joseph and Florence (Barrett) Chango. Teresa married Raymond Costello on August 20, 1952, in Kulpmont, PA. Teresa enjoyed her cooking, music from the 1940's, "talk radio",working in her garden, and especially her grandchildren. Teresa was a devout member of St. Edward Catholic Church and enjoyed her time with the Ladies Guild. Teresa worked for many years at JL Clark company, retiring in 1988. Teresa is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (William) Free of Byron; son Ray (Julie) Costello; son Michael Costello; grandchildren, Joseph (Tamara) Free, Timothy Free, and Allison Free; great grandchildren, Kaden, Peyton, and Baby Free; Sisters, Angeline Rodack of Levittown, PA, Rosemarie Zvirblis of Mt. Carmel, PA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Teresa is preceded in death by her husband Raymond (passed June 1, 1988); her parents, Joseph and Florence Chango; sisters, Amelia Colicchio, Leona Chango; brothers, Edward, Francis, and George Chango. The family would like to say a special thank you to OSF Hospice Care, especially to Marilyn and Dee-Dee. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at St. Edward Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to Mass. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Rockford Rescue Mission.
