Teresa K. Belongia-Garrett

Teresa Kay Belongia-Garrett, age 64, of Palatine, Illinois passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on March 25, 1957 to Clayton and Hazel (Boggs) Belongia. Terri graduated from Guilford High School in 1975 and earned an Associate Degree in Interior Design at Bauder College, Arlington, Texas. She worked in customer service at the American Academy of Pediatrics for over 30 years. Terri was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved to spend time with her family, traveling, gardening, painting, reading and working puzzles. Terri will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Johnathan Garrett (Ashley Kavain); grandson, Jaxson Garrett; sisters, Deborah Brush, Connie (Jim) Moses, Judy Masters and Penny (Chris) White; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Teresa is predeceased by her parents; sister, Marilyn Sue and brother, Jerry.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S Mulford Rd Rockford, IL 61108. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. located at St. Rita Catholic Church 6254 Valley Knoll Drive Rockford, IL 61109. Final resting place will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Teresa’s name to the family.
