Tauhidah El-Amin "Mary Ann Brown Johnson"

Tauhidah El-Amin “Mary Ann Brown Johnson”, 74 of Rockford passed away March 30, 2017 at Swedish-American Hospital. Born on September 18, 1942, Chidester, Arkansas, the daughter of John Henry Brown and Icie Lee Walker. Graduated from West High School then later received her degree from P.C.C. She was married to Eddie Johnson for 27 years until his passing. She worked for the Rockford Public School, District 205, as a bus driver, but most of the time she was self-employed as a paralegal .Member of Greater Faith Church.

Survivors include children Chantinia (Maisha) Allen, Chantrice (Keyon Jones) Johnson, Cheyenne (Travanti)Graham, and Charles D. Johnson; sister Annie Tidwel, Carolyn Henry-McBride, Shirley Wimbley, Freida Wilkins, Joyce Boone; brothers John L Brown, Kent Brown, Alvin McBride; daughter in-law, Kimmar Houston Johnson;14 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephew and cousins. Predeceased by her husband, her parents, son, Charles M. Johnson, and grandson, Charles F. Johnson.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Greater Faith Church. Visitation from 10 AM till time of service. Burial at Cedarbluff cemetery. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108
