SYLVESTER J. "Uncle Butchie" BEISHIR, IIISylvester Joseph "Butch" Beishir III, 65, Rockford, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010, in his home. Butch was born March 9, 1944, in Chicago, the son of Sylvester J. and Ellen (Gale) Beishir, Jr. He married Kathy Simonis on November 14, 1964, in Rockford. Butch served as a Sergeant in the Army from 1968 until 1970. He worked as a fork lift operator at Chrysler Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He was a 1963 graduate of Rockford West High School. Butch enjoyed sports and was an avid golfer having three hole in ones during his career. He was a member of American Legion Robert Carlson Post No.1207, VFW Ross-Pearson No.5149 and Navy Club of Rockford. Butch volunteered delivering meals for Lifescape Community Services.Survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathy; brother, Richard (Linda) Beishir; brother-in-law, John Gates; nieces, Nora (Maynard) Molitor, Lisa (Doug) Fridsma, Julie (Scott) McDonald, and Christy Whittaker; nephews, Raymond Beishir and Mark and Matt Gates; step-sister, Karen (Joe) Meier; great nieces and nephews, Lane and Elizabeth Molitor, Emily Fridsma, Devinne and Peyton Whittaker, Camden McDonald; Godchildren, Kris Vieceli, Mark Gates, Emily Williams; special friend, Nancy McCauley; and his golf buddies, Geno, Lloyd, Rosie, and Dom. Predeceased by his parents; nephew, Lane Beishir; sister, Sylvia Gates; brother-in-law, Jon Simonis; sister-in-law, Phyllis Simonis. Special thanks to Dr. William Edwards and Mary from VNA Hospice for their kind and loving care.Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Monday, March 1, 2010. in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.,Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation from 9:30 am until time of service on Monday. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial will be established in Butchs name at a later date.
