Susan P. Chesnut

Susan P. Chesnut, 65, was born January 17, 1945 in Dixon to John and Helen Snow. She went to be with our Lord on December 2, 2010, after bravely battling cancer. She was proud of her work for "the phone company" and was employed by Dixon Home, Illinois Bell and AT&T phone companies over the years. She enjoyed 30 years of marriage to Terry Chesnut, whom she wed on November 22, 1980. She is survived by her loving husband, Terry; son, Matthew (Sarah), Rockford; stepchildren, Jolinda (Larry) Bittinger, Polo, Keith (Katie) Chesnut, Polo and Molly (Douglas) Sides, Rockford; siblings, Bill (Marsene) Snow of Oregon and Sherry (Robert) Dimmig of Dixon and their families. Also survived by her 8 grandchildren, including her beloved Christina, plus one on the way. Mass of Christian Burial at 10a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in St. Edward Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Black officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Monday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation also from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
