Susan Michele Fairgrieve, 62
Rockford—Susan Michele Fairgrieve, 62 of Rockford died suddenly Saturday at Mercy Hospital. Born May 6, 1954 in Rockford to Merle and Mary (Schmidt) Walton. Graduated from Boylan Catholic High School in 1972, Illinois State University in 1976 with a Bachelors in Special Education and went on to St. Xavier University to receive her Masters in 1996. Susan taught 35 years at Lena Elementary School commuting both ways everyday. Susan loved to garden and all summer flowers and hummingbirds. Family and teaching were the two most important things to Susan.
Family members; Mother, Mary Walton; Sisters, Cathy Smolka and Nancy Walton; Aunts and Uncles, Margaret Keltner, Betty (Louis) D’Agnolo, Kenny (Helen) Walton and Jerry Walton; Numerous cousins and especially her poodle Barkley. Predeceased by her Father Merle, Brother-in-law Theodore and numerous aunts and uncles.
Funeral Mass 10 am Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 9 to 9:45 am Wednesday morning March 22, 2017 in the Parish Center at St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
