Susan Lisa Barisa

Susan Lisa Barisa, 59, of Rockford, passed away Saturday October 19, 2013 at Swedish American Hospital. She was born May 24, 1954 in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of Charles and Barbara Boschi. Susan attended Guilford High School; she graduated from Aurora West in 1972. She then went on to graduate from Waubonsee College. She married Greg Barisa on August 9, 1975 in Aurora, IL. Susan started work at Eagle Foods and then Phar-mor. She currently worked for RPS 205 at Maud E Johnson (22 years), where she was a paraprofessional in an autistic classroom and worked summers at Rockford Christian.

Survivors include her husband Greg of Rockford. Two daughters Stephanie (Stewart Oakes) Barisa of Rockford and Katie (Noah Rotello) Barisa of Rockford. Sister, Mary (Dennis) Niebuhr of Sun Prairie, WI. Three nephews, Jonathan (Alicia), Thomas and Jeffrey. Great nephew Carson Bongard, great nieces, Alyssa, Mya and Aviah Niebuhr. Susan left behind many wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her parents.

Visitation will be 2 pm to 6 pm on Friday October 25, 2013 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 South Mulford Road. The Funeral service to immediately follow from 6 pm to 7 pm.
