Susan K. Pearson

Susan K. Pearson, 73, of Rockford, IL, passed away Sunday, August 30. She was born in Rockford, IL on December 18, 1946 to Francis J. and Marilyn (Andrews) Amundsen.

Susan was a graduate of Auburn High School and earned her RN degree from the Rockford Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Certified Cardiopulmonary Perfusionist and worked for 29 years for Rockford Surgical Service. Susan enjoyed reading, gardening and lake time with her family.

Susan is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gerald; daughter, Dr. Anne (Rich Van Sickle) Pearson; grandchildren, Zachary and Jenna Van Sickle; and sister, Connie (Howard) Snellen. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Becky Macklin.

The family sincerely thanks the staff of Heartland Hospice and caretaker and friend, Carol Shier for their care and compassion.

A walk-though visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory- Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108. Interment to follow at a later date at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Susan’s name to either The American Heart Association or Midwest Labrador Retriever Rescue.
