Susan K. Hecox

Susan K. Hecox, 69, of Loves Park, IL passed away on December 3, 2022. She was born on September 15, 1953, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Vernon and Betty (Ubben) Roewe.

Susan had a lifelong Catholic faith. She was an avid reader, reading her bible and classical literature. She was a graduate of William Woods University and Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville, and worked many years as a Child Psychologist in a variety of settings. On August 27, 1991, Susan married Francis “Chris” Hecox in Rockford, IL. Susan enjoyed Sudoku, crossword puzzles and Science fiction, especially Game of Thrones. She closely followed politics, loved to travel and had a big heart for animals.

Susan is survived by her husband of 31 years, Chris; son, Nicholas Evers; daughter, Amanda (Wayne) Hamlin; step-son, Julian Hecox; grandchildren, Taevin and Avariah Hecox; brother, Bob (Liz) Roewe and dogs, Lucy, Ricky, Rini and cat, Beau. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Visitation for Susan will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory – Riverside Chapel, 3910 N.
